IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This unit has been designed and manufactured to assure your personal safety. Improper use can result in
potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety and operating instructions carefully before
installation and use. Keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note, and adhere to all
warnings on the unit and in the instruction and service manual.
1. Water and Moisture – The unit should not be used near water. For example, near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, etc.
2. Ventilation – The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper
ventilation. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block the
ventilation openings; or placed in a built-in installation, such as bookcase or cabinet that may impede the
flow of air through the ventilation openings.
3. Heat – The unit should be situated away from heat source such as radiators, heat register, stoves, or other
appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
4. Power Sources – The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the
operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.
5. Grounding or Polarization – This product is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a
plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a
safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug
should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose
of the polarized plug.
6. Power Cord Protection – Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked
on or pinched by items placed upon or against them. Paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the points where they exit from the unit.
7. Cleaning – Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol
cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
8. Non-Use Periods – The power cord of the unit should be unplugged from the outlet when it is to be left
unused for a long period of time.

9. Object and Liquid Entry – Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into
the enclosure through openings.
10. Attachments – Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer as they may cause
hazards.
11. Lightning – For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unused for long
periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent
damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.
12. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords or integral convenience receptacles as this
can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
13. Damage Requiring Service – The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power-supply cord or plug has been damaged.
B. Objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure.
C. The unit has been exposed to rain.
D. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged.
E. The unit does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance.
14. Antenna – Do not connect to an external antenna.
15. Servicing – The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond that described in the user’s operating
instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.
16. Protect Your Furniture – When your unit is to be placed on a natural oil or lacquered finish, protective
material should be placed between it and the furniture.

Set Up
1. Remove radio and all packing materials from the carton.
2. It is a good idea to save all packing materials in case the unit ever needs to be returned for service. If you
do dispose of the packaging, please do so properly.
3. Remove any feature labels, fact tags, or clear protective films from the front or top of the radio, if applicable.
Do not remove any labels from the back or bottom of the radio.
4. Place the unit on a level surface, close to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from source of excess
dust, dirt, heat, water, moisture, vibration, and strong magnetic fields.
5. Do not block the ventilation holes on the back or bottom of the cabinet.
6. Plug the AC cord into an outlet.
Note: Backup battery should be installed before plugging in the AC cord. The clock will start working when
the AC cord is plugged in for the first time. For backup operation, refer to Battery Backup System.

Installation and Maintenance
Battery Backup Installation
1. Gently turn the unit over and open the battery compartment door.
2. Install 2 AA batteries. We recommend using an alkaline battery for longest
dependable life. The battery will maintain the correct time in the event
of power failure or accidental line cord disconnection, even though the
display is darkened.
3. Close the battery compartment door, turn the unit right side up, and plug
in the AC cord.
Battery Backup System
The backup batteries will maintain the time and alarm settings in the event
of a temporary power interruption. If the power goes out, the CD, nature
sounds and radio will not play and no display visible but the clock will
continues to run. However, alarms will not be sound during power interruption.
Battery Compartment
If a power failure occurs and backup battery is not installed or dead, all settings will be lost. When the power is
restored the display will read “12:00” and continue to run.
Maintenance
1. Place the unit on a level surface away from direct sunlight or sources of excessive heat.
2. Protect your furniture when placing the unit on natural wood or wood with a lacquered finish. A cloth or other
protective material should be placed between the unit and the furniture.
3. Clean the casing with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents, such
as thinner or similar materials, are not recommended as they may damage the surface of the case.
4. If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, such as a month or longer, remove the batteries to prevent
possible corrosion. Should the battery compartment become corroded or dirty, clean the compartment
thoroughly and replace the battery.

Setting The Clock Time
1. Press and hold the ᕤ Clo ck Adj. Butto n until the display flashes.
2. Press the ꢉ Fo r wa rd/ Minute Butto n and ᕦ Re ve r se / Ho ur Butto n until the correct time is displayed.
Watch the PM Indicator icon at the lower left of the display to set the correct AM or PM.
3. Press the Clo ck Adj. Butto n again or wait a few seconds to return to normal mode.
Listening to Compact Discs
1. Press OPEN on the CD door to open the CD player door.
2. Place a disc on the CD spindle with the printed side facing up and close the CD player door.
3. Press the ᕣ Pla y/ Pa use Butto n. The CD icon will appear in the display and the CD will begin to play.
4. Press the Pla y/ Pa use Butto n during play if you wish to Pause play. The CD icon will flash and display the
current CD track number for about 2 seconds. Press the Pla y/ Pa use Butto n again to continue play.
5. During play, rotate the ꢁ Vo lum e Whe e l to adjust the volume level. Press the ꢄ Displa y Butto n to switch
the display to briefly show the CD track number instead of the time.
6. Press the ᕥ Sto p Butto n or ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n to stop CD play.
High Speed Musical Search
While a track is playing, you can press and hold the ꢉ For ward/ Minute or ᕦ Re ve rse / Hour Butto n to search
for specific musical passages. When you find the passage you are searching for, release the button.
Skip Tracks
1. Press the ꢉ Fo r wa rd/ Minute Butto n to skip to the beginning of the next track.
2. Press the ᕦ Re ve r se / Ho ur Butto n to skip to the beginning of the track that is playing. Press the ᕦ
Re ve r se / Ho ur Butto n again to skip to the beginning of the previous track.

Repeat Play
• Press the ꢈ Pla y Mode Butto n once to repeat the current track. The Repeat Indicator located on the left
side of the display will flash for Repeat mode. The track that is playing will repeat continuously until cancelled.
• Press the ꢈ Pla y Mode Butto n twice for Repeat All mode. The Repeat indicator will stop flashing, indicting
Repeat All mode, and the entire disc will repeat continuously until cancelled.
• To turn off/cancel Repeat or Repeat All modes, press the ꢈ Pla y Mo de Butto n until the Repeat display
disappears.
Random Play
• Press the ꢈ Pla y Mo de Butto n 3 times to enter Random Play mode. The display will indicate Random
mode and all tracks on the CD will play once in random order.
Program Play
1. Press the ᕣ Pla y/ Pa use Butto n then press the ᕥ Sto p Butto n. Press the ꢇ Pro g r a m Butto n to enter
Program Play mode.
2. Display will show “P01” indicating the first program track. Press the ꢉ Forward/ Minute or ᕦ Re ve rse / Hour
Butto n within 8 seconds to select the first track you wish to play, then press the Pro g r a m Butto n to store
the first track.
3. The display will show “P02” for the second program track and so on. Continue to program tracks as detailed
above. You can program up to 20 tracks in any order.
4. When you’ve completed programming the play sequence, press the ᕣ Pla y/ Pa use Butto n. The PROG
icon will appear and the CD player will play tracks per your programmed order.
Notes:
• To play in programmed sequence again, press the ᕣ Pla y/ Pa use Butto n.
• To erase the program, open the CD door or press the ᕥ Sto p Butto n while the PROG icon is flashing.

Listening to Radio and Nature Sounds
Antenna Information
FM – Fully extend the FM wire antenna and vary the direction to find its strongest signal.
AM – The AM bar antenna is inside the cabinet, Rotate the cabinet until you find the strongest AM signal.
1. Press the ᕢ On/ Sle e p Butto n to turn the radio on.
2. The display will show the current radio frequency. Slide the ƽ Function Switch to select AM, FM or Sounds.
If you choose sounds, use the ꢂ So und Se le ct Switch to choose the nature sound you like.
3. For listening to AM or FM radio, rotate the ƾ Tuning Whe e l to find the station you desire. If you stop tuning
for about 5 seconds the display will change back to show the time. Begin tuning again or press the ꢄ
Displa y Butto n to show the radio frequency again.
4. Rotate the ꢁ Vo lum e Whe e l to adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
5. Press the ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n to turn the radio off.
No te : If you press the ᕢ On/ Sle e p Butto n more than once while the radio or sound is turning on, you will enter
Sleep mode.
Sleep to Radio/Nature Sounds
1. Press the ᕢ On/ Sle e p Butt o n twice. The sleep timer will appear on the display and the Sleep indicator
will appear in the upper right corner. The sleep timer will begin at 90 minutes.
2. If you would like the sleep timer to be set for less than 90 minutes, continuously press ᕢ On/ Sle e p Butto n
until you find the time interval (90-60-30-15 minutes, OFF) you prefer.
3. To turn off the radio before the sleep timer has expired, press the ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n.

Alarm Operation
Important!
• To wake to the CD Player or Buzzer you must set Alarm 1 to the desired wake time.
• To wake to the Radio or Nature Sound, set Alarm 2.
Wake to CD or Buzzer
1. Press and hold the ꢆ Ala r m - 1 Butto n until the display flashes and the Alarm-1 icon appears in the upper
right corner of the display. You have a few seconds to begin setting the alarm before the display reverts to
the standard setting.
2. Press the ꢉ Fo r wa rd/ Minute Butto n and ᕦ Re ve r se / Ho ur Butto n to set the alarm time. Remember
to set the correct AM or PM time.
3. After you have programmed the settings, press the ꢆ Ala r m 1 Butto n or wait a few seconds to return to
the standard display. The Ala r m - 1 Indica to r will appear on the display, showing that Alarm 1 is set.
4. For wake to Buzzer, make sure that a CD is not inserted in the CD player.
5. If you wish to wake to a CD rather than the Buzzer, make sure a disc is inserted correctly into the CD player
and the volume is left at a comfortable level to wake up to. (See Listening to Compact Discs).
6. To disarm the alarm, press the ꢆ Ala r m 1 Butto n once. To re-arm, press the ꢆ Ala r m 1 Butto n for 2
seconds.
No te : The CD alarm will play at the currently set volume level when it turns on.
Wake to Radio or Nature Sound
1. Press and hold the ꢅ Ala r m - 2 Butto n until the display is flashing and the Alarm-2 icon is showing on the
upper right corner of the display. You will have a few seconds to begin setting the alarm before the display
reverts to the standard setting.
2. Press the ꢉ Fo r wa rd/ Minute Butto n and ᕦ Re ve r se / Ho ur Butto n to set the alarm time. Remember
to set the correct AM or PM time.

3. Use the ƽ Function Switch, ƾ Tuning Thum bwhe e l and ꢁ Vo lum e Thumbwhe e l to select your Alarm-
2 wake up sound settings. For more information, see the Listening to the Radio section of this manual.
4. When you’ve made your Radio or Nature Sound settings, press the ꢅ Ala r m - 2 Bu tto n or wait a few
seconds to return to the standard display. The Ala r m - 2 Indica to r will appear on the display, showing that
Alarm 2 is set.
5. To disarm the alarm, press the ꢅ Ala r m 2 Butto n once. To re-arm, press the ꢅ Ala r m 2 Butto n for 2
seconds.
Turning Off the Alarm
• After the alarm sounds, press the ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n to turn off the alarm. The alarm will be automatically
reset for the same time the following day.
No te : If more than one alarm is set, pressing the ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n to stop the alarm that is sounding will
not affect the other alarm, which will turn on at the time it is set for.
• If you do not want the alarm to turn on the following day, press the corresponding alarm button once until
the alarm indicator is turned off.
• If the alarm is not turned off once it sounds, it will continue for approximately one hour, then turn off
automatically. This cycle will repeat every 24 hours unless the controls are changed.

Snooze Operation
To temporarily shut off the alarm, press the ꢀ Snoo ze Butto n after the alarm sounds.The alarm will turn off then
come back on in approximately 6 minutes. You may repeat this several times during the one-hour alarm cycle.
Dimmer Switch
Set the

Dimmer Switch to HI or LO to adjust backlight brightness depending on the brightness in the room.
Stereo Headphone Jack
Connect a headphone (not included) to the headphone jack on the right of the unit for private listening. The built-
in speakers are shut off when headphones are connected.
AUX-in/MP3 Input Operation
This unit comes with an AUX cord allowing you to connect the unit to your MP3 player (or other devices with
an audio out) to play through the built in speakers.
1. Plug one end in your MP3 player’s audio output jack and another end to the MP3-in jack on the left side of
the unit. The MP3 Line-In icon appear at the lower left of the display, indicating the unit is ON.
2. Turn on your MP3 player to listen to your MP3s through the unit’s speaker. Adjust the ꢁ Vo lum e on your
MP3 player to a comfortable listening level.
3. Press the ᕡ Po we r Off Butto n to turn off the unit. Press the ᕢ On/ Sle e p Butto n or turn the unit back on.
No te : Once you plug a device into the MP3-in jack, most other sound functions (other than alarm operation)
are disabled. You will not be able to turn on the CD, radio or nature sound.
Im po r ta nt! You should plug in the MP3-in cord for AUX input only and always unplug it for normal operation.

Troubleshooting

The alarm does not sound

Limited 90-Day Warranty Information
Timex Audio Products, a division of SDI Technologies Inc. (hereafter referred to as SDI Technologies), warrants this product
to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, for a period of 90 days from the date
of original purchase.
Should this product fail to function in a satisfactory manner, it is best to first return it to the store where it was originally purchased.
Should this fail to resolve the matter and service still be required by reason of any defect or malfunction during the warranty period,
SDI Technologies will repair or, at its discretion, replace this product without charge (except for a $10.00 charge for handling,
packing, return UPS/postage, and insurance). This decision is subject to verification of the defect or malfunction upon delivery
of this product to the Factory Service Center listed below. The product must include proof of purchase, including date of
purchase. The fee for service after the warranty period or without proof of purchase is $30.00.
Before returning this product for service, please first replace the batteries (if applicable) with fresh ones, as exhausted or
defective batteries are the most common cause of problems encountered.
If service is still required:
1. Remove the batteries (if applicable) and pack the unit in a well padded, heavy corrugated box.
2. Enclose a photocopy of your sales receipt, credit card statement, or other proof of the date of purchase, if within the warranty
period.
3. Enclose a check or money order payable to the order of SDI Technologies, for the sum of $10.00 ($30.00 after warranty period).
4. Send the unit prepaid and insured, to the Factory Service Center listed below.
